Pokémon Go is holding a short route-themed event, “Along the Routes,” from Dec. 5-8 to introduce the new NPC, Mateo.
The event has a plethora of pretty good bonuses, including halved hatch distance for eggs put into Incubators during the event, tripled PokéStop XP, quintupled XP from new PokéStops, and doubled Stardust from gifts.
There’s also a new set of Special Research, “A Route to New Friendships,” so you can meet Mateo, who you can find at the end of your routes.
Hisuian Sneasel is also now available shiny for the first time as part of this event.
In addition to those perks, there’s the usual stuff, like a Timed Research set, boosted spawns, and 7 km egg hatches, which we’ve detailed below.
